I can't even pick a favourite, I absolutely love the direction Olivier Rousteing is taking Balmain in. There are still the signature embellishments but different colours are being used as well as different silhouettes and Rousteing's definitely making his mark.
I don’t care if her real name is Lizzie Grant and her lips aren’t real, I like her music and I love her style even more.
Her style reminds me of a more chic, polished version of Lily Allen’s early image.
I would love to know who the stylist is that is responsible for her image because anyone that can rock gold hoop earrings and a curb link chain and manage to dodge the “Chav” tag is amazing in my eyes.
There's a reason why I wasn't too upset about not being able to get anything from the Versace x H&M collection. Topshop have been teasing me with their drip feeding of the upcoming S/S 12 collection, and I can't wait till all the pieces I'm coveting hit the shops so I can get my fix.
In terms of the campaign, I love their approach to how it's been photographed. It feels more like I'm viewing a photography exhibition which allows me to look at the clothes differently to how I normally would, and seeing as at some point during the next 2 months I'm going to have to shoot a lookbook, this has given me something to think about.
I need to find out what this models name is. She's giving me Naomi Campbell and I love it...
So I've been lusting after the Isabel Marant Bekket and Willow trainers for way too long now. The chances of me getting my hands on them are slim (unless I start selling tons of my collection now or find myself a sugar daddy), so when Jerrica of Fashion Nostalgia brought the Aldo Netz trainers to my attention, it literally was God send. They're a bargain at £80 (in comparison to the Isabel Marant ones), however, the trainers in black has already sold out but it's okay, the beige ones are equally as hot.
Although the clothes don't appear to be sports inspired, I'm assuming the inspiration for the concept was the olympics which is interesting. I'm loving the serene vibes the images are giving off even though serenity isn't always something you would equate with sports.
As you saw in the preview I posted of my A/W 2012 collection, the collection is somewhat sports inspired (I'll go into that after I've shot the lookbook)and if I had the budget, I would so hire out a pommel horse, rings, high bars, beams and vaults for the lookbook. I like the way they've been used in the Chanel campaign as I almost didn't notice them which goes to show that the prop doesn't have to take away from the fashion.
They have been creeping into my consciousness lately and having spotted the likes of Rihanna, Mary J Blige, Victoria Beckham and most recently, Pharrell Williams and Beyonce wearing them, I get the feeling it’s a trend that’s about to take off (no pun intended. Honest).
They’re even popping up on models on my tumblr dashboard,
Whilst browsing pilot hats. I realised that Burberry’s S/S 12 accessories feature pom-pom pilot hats, so I’m assuming some variation of the hat will be making its way onto the highstreet shortly.
I want an all black one with a badge of my ‘SP’ logo, whether I can pull it off or not is a different story.
